Mutton Akhni
Ingredients
● 2–3 onions, chopped
● Whole jeera and green chillies
● 2 kg meat, washed
● 2 tsp salt
● Ginger garlic paste
● 1 tsp haldi
● 11⁄2 tsp dhania jeera powder
● 2 tsp chilli powder
● 3 tsp Kashmiri chilli powder
● 3–4 grated tomatoes
● Tomato purée
● 4 cups water
● 2 cups rice
● Potatoes
Method
1. Braise onions, jeera, and green chillies in oil. Add the meat and salt.
2. Cook on low heat until all the water burns off.
3. Add the spices, tomatoes, and purée. Cook for 30–40 minutes.
4. Add boiled water and the rice, followed by potatoes.
5. Boil rapidly for 5 minutes, then reduce heat.
6. Steam until the dish is ready. Garnish with fresh dhania.
