Comfort Pea Dhal

Comfort Pea Dhal

Ingredients:
* 2 cups Chohans Pea Dhal
* 1 curry spoon ghee
* 1 teaspoon Chohans Jeera (cumin seeds)
* 1 teaspoon Chohans Mustard Seeds
* 2-3 Chohans Cinnamon Sticks
* 1 sliced onion
* 2 Chohans Aniseeds
* 1 Chohans Black Alcha 
* 2-3 Chohans Whole Dried Red Chilies
* 4-6 cloves garlic, sliced in half
* 2 teaspoons salt (adjust to taste)
* 1/2 tablespoon Chohans Chilli Powder
* 1/2 tablespoon Chohans Kashmiri Chilli Powder
* 1/2 teaspoon Chohans Turmeric Powder
* 1/2 tablespoon Chohans Rombo Rossi Masala
* 4 chopped tomatoes
* 3 cups water
* Chohans Fried Onions
* Fresh Chopped Coriander


Instructions:
* Cook the Dhal:
* Soak and boil 2 cups of Chohans Pea Dhal until completely dissolved.
* Prepare the Spice Mixture:
* Heat 1 curry spoon of ghee in a separate pot.
* Add 1 teaspoon of Chohans Jeera, 1 teaspoon of Chohans Mustard Seeds, 2-3 Chohans Cinnamon Sticks, 1 sliced onion, 2 Chohans Aniseeds, 1 Chohans Black Alcha, and 2-3 Chohans Whole Dried Red Chilies.
* Fry until the onions turn golden brown.
* Add the Spices and Aromatics:
* Add 4-6 cloves of sliced garlic, 2 teaspoons of salt, 1/2 tablespoon of Chohans Chilli Powder, 1/2 tablespoon of Chohans Kashmiri Chilli Powder, 1/2 teaspoon of Chohans Turmeric Powder, and 1/2 tablespoon of Chohans Rombo Rossi Masala.
* Sauté for a minute.
* Add the Tomatoes and Dhal:
* Add 4 chopped tomatoes and cook until softened.
* Add the pre-boiled dhal and 3 cups of water.
* Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
* Serve:
* Garnish with Chohans Fried Onions and fresh chopped coriander.
* Serve over a bed of braised rice with potato bhajias, lemon or mango pickle, and poppadoms.


Potato Bhajias
Ingredients:
* Chohans Chilli Bite Mix
* Water
* Thinly sliced potatoes
* Oil for deep frying
Instructions:
* Mix the Chohans Chilli Bite Mix with water to form a paste.
* Coat the thinly sliced potatoes in the paste.
* Deep fry the coated potatoes in hot oil until the coating is crispy and the potatoes are soft.
